my experience in tutoring two of students: part two

1.       First meeting
In the first meeting, the lesson occur around thirty minutes in the cafeteria, as the tutor told before the tutor choose the cafeteria to makes the students feel easy and freely to shared their problem. The tutor started the lesson with introducing self and and talked about how their life, their problem, school, etc. Then, the teacher taught them about the simple past, the meaning,  how to used the simple past in communication through the conversation between the tutor and the students. In the end of meeting the tutor gave the students some exercise through the conversation also. The students should answered the questions in the card and the tutor will continue the question by asking them orally.
2.     Second meeting
In the second meeting, the duration of the lesson longer than before, it was around one hour. the tutor started the lesson as the first meeting by asking some questions about their conditions, their feelings and also the question related to the simple past such as, what did you do last night? and something like that. In other hand, to make the students more interesting, the tutor also showed pronounciation of some word to the students. The students was very interesting because the pronounciation that they learned before of the word is different, in the meeting they know how to pronounce the word correctly and to make them sure whether the pronounce that given by the tutor correct or not, the tutor prove that through dictionary. After that, the tutor street to the point in introducing the simple perfect tense: when the simple perfect will be used, what the differences between the simple past and simple perfect tense. Then, the students practice the using of simple perfect orally in conversation with the tutor and friend also.
3.      Third meeting
In the last meeting the lesson occurred around thirty minutes,  as usual the tutor started the lesson through asking some questions through conversation and fixed they pronounciation of some word. In this meeting, the lesson was done through the game that created by the tutor, the game focus on how to differentiate between both of the tenses and also about simple question. In the game consist of board game, pencil, and some cards. The tutor divided them into two groups and each of them should choose the piece of board game to be their home. Then, the teacher used the pencil and swing it in the middle of board game and the home that pointed by the pencil will answer the questions in the card.
This game really fun and makes the students really interesting and they can practice about the simple past and perfect tense unconsciously. This game also make them feel better when learning about the grammar so that the students can feel comfortable and do not afraid when lesson is happened.
Thus, in the end of the lesson the tutor conclude that the tutoring was successfully improve the students’ understanding about the simple past and simple perfect. The students can understand what is the differentiation between the simple past and simple perfect through the quantum teaching leaning method and board game media and can apply this tenses in the daily conversation.
