about How to Differentiate Simple Past and Simple perfect Tenses During Three Meetings
The
tutoring was conducted at students in third year of senior high school, they
are AF and PJ who 17th years old (male and female). Based on tutor’s
interview they have a problem in differentiating between simple past tense and simple perfect
tense in communication context, they want the tutor showed them how to use the
tenses when they communicate with other person effectively. Thus, the students asked
the tutor to help them to solve the problem.
The
tutoring was occured in cafeteria and tutor’s house during three meetings. One
meeting in cafeteria and two meetings in tutor’s house. Why it happened in
cafeteria first? Because the tutor wants make the students comfortable in first
meeting with shared their lamentation. They can freely mentioned their problem
in understanding the tenses in that meeting. Then, the second and third meeting
the tutoring was conducted in tutor’s house, the students came to the house at
night and learned together.
The
tutor used the quantum teaching learning method in teaching and learning the
tenses. The tutor wants the students close with her before the lesson occurred.
Before the tutor teach them about the simple past and simple perfect the tutor
indicate their point problem in differentiating between both of the tenses
through asking them some questions to make them close with her. Meanwhile,
about the media, the tutor used a grammar book, cards, and board game to help
the lesson happen successfully.
